Most ERGs were built for people who can pick one affinity group without lying. Multiracial employees spend the mixer deciding which room they are allowed to stand in.
I have been asked, more than once, whether I would be more comfortable in the Asian ERG or the Black ERG. The question is polite. The architecture is not.
What would help is not a new acronym. It is permission to belong in more than one place, and programming that does not treat mixed people as a rounding error in the headcount.
